Sunday Football never disappoints - and yesterday was no exception! Although the Dolphins didn't win, we saw some exciting and bold moves from our Fins. Jason Taylor's two sacks and Ricky Williams' 68 yard touchdown had my heart racing. Thanks to all those incredible plays, the cheerleaders, along with a stadium full of amazing Dol-fans, were able to dance again and again to Jimmy Buffett's Fins song. That song never gets old!
Prior to the game I was able to meet a number of fans on the field. Having the opportunity to meet them is always a highlight for me. Another great moment of the game was our Halloween-themed cheerleader performance. Learning the routine, featuring Michael Jackson's "Thriller," was so much fun but performing it for the crowd was even better - and definitely got me excited for Halloween this weekend!
This was also Alumni Weekend and the '82 and '84 teams were celebrated for their AFC Championships. I was so fortunate and honored to have met and escorted Dick Anderson during the halftime special presentation. Dick Anderson was part of the '72 perfect season and played for the Fins from '62-'77. It was wonderful to see the camaraderie that still exists among former teammates that reunited this weekend; the true spirit of Dolphins football!
While the night didn't end with a Dolphins win, I still give this game two-thumbs up. Kris Allen performed at the tailgate, many Dolphins Alumni and legends were present to witness some amazing plays, a 'spooktacular' Halloween performance, and of course the undying support of our fans! It was an incredible evening overall. See you at our next game against the Bucs!
Until then, Fins Up Miami!
Cheers,
Mariela
