Former Dolphins Cheerleader Wins NBC's Ultimate Honeymoon Contest

Former Miami Dolphins Cheerleader, Shannon Ford and her fiancé, Ray, recently won the NBC Ultimate Honeymoon giveaway contest. After submitting their story and rallying through the two week online voting contest, the grand prize, a five-night stay at The Carlisle Bay five-star resort in Antigua as well as round trip airfare on America Airlines is finally theirs!

"Ray and I were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received from family and friends who voted everyday. We are thrilled to have won and can't wait to spend our first week as husband and wife on the beautiful island of Antigua," Ford said. "Ray proposed on Valentine's Day 2009 and we will be getting married at The Biltmore Hotel on 10/10/10. The reason for the long engagement? We are paying for the entire wedding ourselves and do not want to put anything on credit. So winning the Ultimate Honeymoon was a dream come true for us, not to mention, one less thing we need to pay for."

"Ray and I deserved to win the Ultimate Honeymoon because it will have taken us 15 years to finally tie the knot," Ford added. "We met back in 1995 while both attending FIU and dated briefly, but decided we were better off as friends. After college we dated again from 2000-2002, but life took us in different directions and I moved to New York, while he stayed in Miami. Then after moving back and over five years apart, we reunited again in 2007, this time for good. Many people ask us what is different this time, and it's simple, we grew up."
